MICRO Museums

MICRO builds six-foot-tall science museums for public spaces like transit hubs, community centers, and hospital waiting rooms within areas that have low museum density. Each museum explores a topic through interactive holograms, videos, and 3D printed sculptures. MICRO currently has two museum series in public release: the Smallest Mollusk Museum and the Perpetual Motion Museum.

Museums are staggeringly inaccessible, from their locations and admission fees to their content and design. Museumgoers and museum staff are overwhelmingly white, upper and middle class, and hold advanced degrees. MICRO believes that museums aren’t reaching everyone, that access to high quality science is empowering, and that the future of museum learning is decentralized. I led partnerships and internal operations from 2020-2021.
